Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is a massage technique that helps to restore motion to stiff joints by working on fascia to realign the body. It involves applying sustained pressure into the fascial connective tissue, resulting in a slow unwinding of the fascia, helping to release muscle pain and increase mobility.

Fascia is a connective tissue that is made up of a web of elastin and collagen fibres that surrounds, infuses and protects all the other tissue, muscle, organs, bone and ligaments in the body. Imagine a spider web that permeates your body and connects everything. Fascia, like muscle, has the ability to contract and relax and plays a major role in mobility and stability of joints. Because Fascia is very strong when one spot gets pulled or injured the effect ripples throughout the body creating all over body tension. 

Myofascial Release Massage helps to smooth out hard knots by returning the fascia to its normal, fluid, adaptable self. Your body will feel more aligned with its natural posture and it provides great relief to pent up bodies that are wound up from modern living.
The slow and deep nature of this treatment honours your bodies’ self – healing mechanism. It is effective in treating headaches, stress, joint and muscular pain, and postural problems. Postural assessment included.
